Aperture Holes ft. Solid Tires
The holes that are built into the sidewall of solid tires (Aperture Holes) are very important to maximize each tire's quality and operating life.
The Aperture holes allow us to inject heat directly to the tire's center, this way they ensure that the rubber in the center is "cured" without over curing the tire's exterior. The rubber needs to be "cured" at the right temperature to achieve optimal elasticity, too much or too little heat would otherwise damage the tire.
The principle of tire use is simple, the longer you run the tires the more heat builds up on the tire's surface and the temperature gets distributed into the center of the tires. For air tires this wouldn't be an issue however with solid tires the heat has nowhere to expand so it get absorbed into the rubber. The aperture holes help this heat escape from the center of the tire more quickly while the machine is resting.
Our pattern L1H has a two-row aperture holes, it makes it more stable since the heat can better cure the "mid" section of the tire than a single-row. Also a 2-row aperture tire generates more cushion, reducing driver fatigue.
The L1H pattern is the number one choice for telehandlers for brands such as Caterpillar, Magni, Dieci, JCB, Haulotte and Genie.
